Did you ever wonder what happens to the Krishna Lunch leftovers? While some of it goes into a general compost pile at our Alachua rural Krishna Temple, most of it is given to the Salvation Army, St. Francis House or Campus Kitchen for free distribution to the homeless. Approximately 25,000 plates of FREE Krishna Lunch are distributed each year through these charitable organizations. If you know of other organizations that have a similar need for cooked meals on a daily basis, please contact us at

Good Food, Good Music, Good People |

Krishna Lunch is all about spiritual enjoyment. The ancient practice of bhakti yoga centers around chanting the names of God (any name will do, though we chant Hare Krishna). Chanting is easy, fun, and a powerful meditation.
After chanting, there's prasad (sanctified vegetarian food that is carefully prepared and offered with love). For a bhakti yogi, every meal is a step forward in spiritual life.
For this reason, Krishna devotees tend to be happy people. We don't push our practices on anyone, but everyone is welcome to join the fun. You're welcome to take part in our regular programs at the Plaza or the Krishna House.
